Our house has fifteen skylights. I love them for the amount of light they let in and how I always feel connected to the weather. Except every year about this time I am pushed to the edge of sanity by the rain, and the pounding on the skylights just makes it worse.

Someone at work said yesterday it had rained 20 days straight. I would have guessed more. And we aren't talking misty, sweet, gentle rain ... but pounding, bouncing, rain that just does not let up!

Our pond is a couple of inches from overflowing its banks. The culvert that runs under our driveway sounds like the Russian River. The ground is totally saturated. I even had to cut a channel out around the loafing shed so the goats could stay dry.

The only good news is that we know it will be over someday. And when that day comes, you can bet we will be grateful.
