Does anyone even know who Harry Belafonte is anymore? Do you associate the song Day-O with anything other than an ad for the (former) Bon Marche? (The song is about loading bananas for those of you born after 1965!)
And of course the reason I thought of the song is that we are growing bananas in our very own Western Washington back yard! Bring the ice cream and chocolate sauce in about October for a banana split made with home grown bananas!
It would be nice if I wasn't kidding...but unfortunately we can already feel the change in the air as our world hurtles towards fall.
