Bird Nuts

To See Every Bird on Earth by Dan Koeppel (book #41) was an interesting book about his father's obsession with birds and how it affected him and the other members of his family.

As a bird nut myself, I always enjoy reading about people traveling to hunt out the most unique species...but part of my interest is the psychologist in me wondering how a hobby turns into an obsession.

Last year I read The Big Year by Mark Obmascik, and there were some similarities between these two books. But since the Koeppel family dysfunction is less interesting to me that Obmascik's quirky birding-on-a-shoestring I would encourage you to read The Big Year if you're only going to read one of these books.
