At Least I Can Read While I Drive...

In the new puppy-enhanced world of the Black Dog Farm, my actual book reading seems to be limited to about a half hour before I go to sleep. That's why Haruki Murakami's The Wind Up Bird Chronicles is taking me so long to read.

I did, however, enjoy the audio book of Housekeeping by Marilyn Robinson. (#28) It is a strange and moody book about a dysfunctional but also loving family. I sat here for a long time trying to decide what to say about this book...it was absolutely perfectly written, the kind of writing that sometimes in audio books is a pain in the neck since you can't re-read a sentence or paragraph and then sit and reflect like you can with a book book. That's all I can say about it. Except read it.
