You thought we were coffee nuts already, but it has gotten worse! I have been frustrated with our access to good, fresh roasted coffee in our rural area. The beans I buy have been sometimes good and sometimes awful, and I always seem to be on the verge of running out.
So, my latest scheme involved buying green coffee beans and roasting them (yes, you are reading this right) in our air popcorn popper The beans I bought are a Mexican Organic Decaf and a Guatemalan regular.
The beans came yesterday from Sweet Maria's and I got started. The first batch was not roasted long enough but the next two were darned good! I am excited about this since green coffee can last up to a year so I can roast as needed and not worry about the beans getting stale.
I am happy now!
