We talked to Adam and Martha over the weekend - they were both in Mexico City. Adam was there on business and Martha joined him to work on searching for an apartment to rent. Martha would make appointments and look at them first...taking video to show Adam in the evening. Then any that seemed good prospects to both of them, they'd go look at together.
Having the dogs and no credit history in Mexico really made things challenging for them, and after a few days of rejections they almost gave up and just bought a place. They'd focused their search in an area of Mexico City called Condesa. From the research I've done it seems to have a lot of modern architecture, kind of a posh inner city area with two very large parks. There's even a number of dog walker businesses, and many of the local ladies socialize while walking their dogs in the parks. I can imagine that Adam and Martha will know everyone in the area within one month!
The good news is that they've found a place to rent. It's very modern, brand new, on the second floor of a five unit building. It has two bedrooms. They said they would send video, and I can't wait to see it. Actually, I can't wait to go for a visit. Adam plans on locating his office in the neighborhood, too.
I don't have a lot more information about their new home, but I am so happy for them and the progress they've made already on such a huge undertaking.
