I'm Sappy

That's a combination of Sad and Happy... but mostly happy - as Adam and Martha move forward into a new phase of their lives. Adam has been promoted to Country Manager (Mexico) for F5 Networks. The new position is exactly what he has been working toward for the last several years, and I know he will do a kick-ass job at it. They will live in Mexico City. He is down there now, but his new position starts officially April 1. The sad parts:

• They'll defer remodeling their house
• They'll rent it out for the duration
• They won't be as close by for impromptu (or planned) get-togethers

The happy parts:

• The opportunity they wanted is here
• Challenge and new adventures will make them grow
• Martha will have more potential, whether in another job or if she decides to start a business
• We can visit them in Mexico
• E-mail, photo attachments, internet phones - we'll be able to stay in touch
• They'll be close to Martha's family
• It'll be fun to live in a modern loft condo in Mexico City

I've really cherished the last few years with the two of them so close by. But I expect that someday we will live near each other again, probably when Paul & I retire to Mexico. Life is like a book, a series of chapters that make up the whole. One chapter is over, but there are many more to come.
