Country Life

The last few days we have seen a pair of wood ducks on the pond. Our three Rouen ducks don't like them and chase them from one side to the other. The wood ducks rotate around the pond away from the Rouens, only to leave if we come too close. We think they may be looking for a nesting spot since our neighbor may have disturbed them by clearing land to build a house not far from his pond. While we were watching them last evening a large woodpecker swooped into the adjacent cedar trees . What a lovely place this is. Angus had a bad day yesterday, seeming extra tired and listless. I have been fighting depression over his situation, but try to drive it off with thoughts of NOW. Not what will be, or what was. Now.
