Black Dog Farm news

The most important thing in our lives right now is that our almost five year old black Scottie Angus has been diagnosed with Lymphosarcoma. He is on his second week of chemotherapy. He is also getting treated with prednisone, a steroid. I first noticed his lymph nodes were enlarged Wednesday the 6th. We went to the vet on Thursday, and Friday she called with the test results. I took him in a big rush zooming up and down our rural highway to take him to the oncologist in Silverdale. He had his first treatment then. He was better almost immediately, his lymph nodes noticably reduced. The prednisone make him thirsty and pee a lot. He is tired and sleeps most of the time. Last Friday took him back to the oncologist for treatment #2. This will keep up for 24 weeks. His prospects aren't that great, possibly 8 months, perhaps even a year or two if we are lucky. I am trying to behave like a dog, living in the present.
